D'Longganisa Roll

Longganisa is a Filipino sausage, with many variations around Philippines depending on the province. some are small and fat, some thinner and longer. the common flavour is sweet and savoury, packed full of garlic.

this kapihan favourite is a mashup of our childhood memories of sausage rolls growing up in the UK and eating longsilog for breakfast with rice and a fried egg.

Recipe Ingredients:

Cultured Puff pastry (home made is best)

Longganisa mix (A lot of recipes to choose from, choose one which you prefer some use more garlic, some are sweeter, smoked).

Toasted Sesame Seeds

Recipe Steps:

Roll out chilled pastry dough/sheet so roughly 5mm thick

Cut out squares 3 inches by 4 inches

Take Longganisa mix, hand form logs 1-2inches fat and place into middle of pastry squares;

Roll up tight and score the top 2-3 times

Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds

Bake in oven at 180C for 30-40 mins
